Shifting gears into a new subject
I'll be shifting gears for this newsletter into a different subject - documenting my time working on nostr.
Hey friends 👋
It’s been a while since I wrote. The last issue I sent out was regarding me quitting Twitter (that still stands).
I’d like to shift gears towards a new subject: nostr.
My aim is to document my journey while working in this area, and hopefully spark some interesting conversations with you.
If this is not interesting, I totally understand if you unsubscribe now.
We can still keep in touch on LinkedIn (I hover around there occasionally for freelance leads).
But, if you are the curious type who likes to learn new things, you may find this interesting, and I hope you stick around! 🤗
What is nostr?
To save time explaining it, I created a website that I can just link to people. It’s not entirely accurate as there is more to it, but it’s a good, fun introduction:

I also wrote a short blog post on Scribbble about why our platform should pivot to nostr. It’s short and to the point, won’t waste your time.
I’ve been volunteering my time for 5 months now, just designing all sorts of apps for the ecosystem and learning how everything works. I think I have a good grasp on many subject now and can share what I’ve learned.
Why should you care?
I think there is a huge first mover opportunity here, for people who like to tinker and hack around new things. It’s definitely not for people who want everything to work perfectly the moment they experience it. It’s too early for that.
AI angle
I also think the nature of the current AI progress is going to fundamentally change human search behavior. Just as we had the app movement where apps became big business, I believe AI will in some form display Google search. I think Google knows this and that’s why their entire agenda for 2023 and going forward is AI tools.
Will you join me?
I hope you join me as I explore this new concept of a cross-functional open and permission-less protocol that I believe will play a huge part in all our futures.
If not, I understand. Some things are just boring to people or they may not be the early mover types who like to explore new things.
If you unsubscribe now, you won’t get any more of my emails and I will no loner annoy you ðŸ˜ðŸ’œ
In the next issue, I will talk a bit more about why I am so excited about this space and give you a quick overview of what is happening in the ecosystem.
Cheers! 👋🤗
